Major Shows-1996-2010

This solo show in Art Heritage Gallery New Delhi, saw the beginning of Daroz's modular concept of work. The gateways have been made in terracotta with a deliberate mixture of rice husk. Like the material, a non-permanency pervades the installation which at once reflects the destructive and weathering forces of nature and time or even of vandalism. For impressions left can be incidental or intentional.

The show had a massive impact on the Delhi audience as it showed the immense expansive capacities of the medium. Architectural gateways to life sized pots, wall niches to medium sized platters and vases showed huge variety and technical expertise.

The terracotta gateways showed a dramatic contradiction of force and rhythmic contours through the use of Tibetan floral motifs, skillfully carved through clay blocks, complimented a sense of timelessness. There is a purity of line and monumental quality about the site specific work  that changes our perception of the ceramic object.
